Talk summary:
Lincoln’s lab develops software for building model organism databases. These
platforms integrate the “broad but shallow” information that comes from
high-throughput genomic and proteomic techniques, with the “narrow but deep”
information that comes from traditional hypothesis-driven research, thereby
creating a bridge between the “old” and the “new” biology. In his talk, he
will discuss the nature of model organism databases, and describe the design
and implementation of an exemplar of this genre, WormBase.
